At Twin River Law LLP we recognize that the growth of the Internet and online services has created new privacy concerns. That’s why we use strong encryption and security policies to safeguard client identifiable information such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
We will continue to protect client identifiable information derived from the provision of our legal services and interactions with this website consistent with the laws and regulations of the Province of Alberta.
Collection and Use of Client Identifiable Information
We collect and use client identifiable information to provide services, respond to inquiries, provide updates regarding of changes in the law, and to notify others about the services we provide. We store certain client identifiable information with third-party cloud storage providers so that we can access files at any time and from anywhere we have an internet connection. Any documents we store in this manner are encrypted before being delivered to the third-party provider and encrypted again by the third-party provider upon their receipt. We also use cloud based practice management software to help us better serve our clients in a timely and efficient manner. Client identifiable information transferred to a third party in this way may travel through or be stored in servers located in the United States or elsewhere in the world.
Although we believe that the security provided by our service providers greatly exceeds any security a law firm could afford to provide, there is always a risk of data corruption or hacking of information held by third parties. The same is true with respect to any information we may retain in our office. Our practice is to treat all client identifiable information with the same protection and care as we do our own sensitive information. We have implemented technology and security features and have conducted due diligence regarding the practices of our service providers to safeguard the privacy of client identifiable information from unauthorized access and improper use, and we will continue to enhance our security procedures as new technology becomes available.
